What Buyers Ask About the S-23A
The S-23A is assembled at HYDMECH’s facility in Conway, Arkansas. HYDMECH has been designing and manufacturing band saws in North America since 1978.
The S-23A comes with a two year parts warranty and one year labor warranty, provided through your authorized HYDMECH dealer.
The automatic PLC touchscreen control is programmable for up to 100 jobs with 20 in the queue. Set length, angle, and quantity for each job, and the S-23A indexes material with its cast iron shuttle, clamps with full-stroke hydraulic vises, and cuts each part in sequence.
The S-23A cuts mild steel, structural steel, aluminum, stainless steel, tubing, and solid round bar. The 8.8 HP VFD variable speed drive lets operators dial in the right blade speed for each material, from 75 to 350 SFM.
At 90 degrees the S-23A cuts up to 16″ round and 16″ x 20″ rectangular. At 45 degrees it cuts up to 14″ round and 16″ x 14″ rectangular. At 30 degrees it cuts up to 8 1/2″ round and 16″ x 8 1/2″ rectangular.
Both are 16″ x 20″ capacity horizontal pivot mitering band saws. The S-23P is semi-automatic: the operator loads each piece and the saw clamps and cuts. The S-23A is fully automatic. Its cast iron shuttle multi-indexes up to 28.5″ per stroke, and the automatic PLC touchscreen stores up to 100 jobs with 20 in the queue, so it indexes, clamps, cuts, and repeats a full cut list on its own.
